Exciting Tavy Fridge Project

Libraries Unlimited, with the support of Livewest, are looking to start a community fridge project in Tavistock called Tavy Fridge in February /March 2021 depending on Covid restrictions. It will be based in the foyer of Tavistock Library.

This is to reduce edible food waste going into landfill, to help address food insecurity locally, to make people more aware of food and food waste, and to provide community connection with 2 great volunteering opportunities.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help. There are 2 roles available:

(a) to check and clean the fridge

(b) to pick up food from supermarkets.

The commitment is 15–30 minutes one day a week for the first role, or 1-2 hours one evening every two weeks for the second. Full training and support will be given. For full details, go to this link:
